Scrap my car in Priors Hall Park
Lots of households in Priors Hall Park arrive with more cars than their new drive can hold. An old car that was fine on a big driveway elsewhere becomes a problem in a parking court or a single-width drive. If you want it gone, Rapid Recovery Corby will buy it, collect it for free and pay you by bank transfer.
We buy scrap and unwanted cars, vans and motorbikes. It doesn't matter if the car won't start, has no MOT or has been in an accident.

Cars we collect for scrap
| Type of car | Can we take it? |
|---|---|
| Non-runner | Yes |
| No MOT, or failed MOT | Yes |
| Accident damaged | Yes |
| No V5C logbook | Yes, with proof of ID |
| Old van or motorbike | Yes |
Is your old car worth repairing?
If the car needs a big repair, such as a new clutch, gearbox or major bodywork, the bill can be more than the car is worth. In that case, selling it for scrap is often the sensible choice. If you are unsure, we can recover it to a garage for a quote first, via breakdown recovery in Priors Hall Park.
The process, start to finish
Get a price. Call or WhatsApp 07598 314366 with the make, model and condition. Tell us if anything is missing, such as wheels or the engine.
Book a free collection. Pick a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends.
We collect. We load the car using a winch or dollies if it won't roll. On tight drives and in parking courts, our van with dollies and skates can move it out first.
You get paid. Payment is by bank transfer.
Why we never pay cash
Under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, cash payments for scrap are banned. We pay every scrap car by bank transfer. It is the law, it keeps a proper record and it protects you as the seller.
What happens to your car after we collect it?
We hold a waste carrier licence and a scrap metal collector's licence. Your car goes to a licensed Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). The ATF issues a Certificate of Destruction and notifies the DVLA that the car has been scrapped.
Once the DVLA knows, it automatically refunds any full months of vehicle tax left. You don't need to apply for it separately.
How is the scrap price worked out?
The price for your car depends on:
- Its weight, since heavier cars contain more metal.
- Current scrap metal prices, which move over time.
- The make and model.
- Whether it is complete.
- Its overall condition.
We give you a price on the phone before collection. For more detail, see our scrap car cost guide.
Scrapping a car that has been left behind
Sometimes the car you want to scrap isn't in Priors Hall Park at all. It might still be at your old address, at a relative's house, or sitting at a garage after a failed repair. We can collect it from wherever it is, as long as someone can be there to hand it over and we have the right paperwork. Tell us the location when you call and we will price it accordingly.
We can also collect from workplaces and garages if that is easier than arranging access at home.
A quick note on parking courts
Many new-build homes share parking areas with neighbours. A car that has been sitting for months may have flat tyres or seized brakes, and it may be boxed in by other cars. That is not a problem for us. We use dollies and skates to move the car out without touching anything around it, and we can work around times when the parking area is quieter. Let us know about access when you book, and if you need a neighbour to move their car, it helps to ask them in advance.
Paperwork checklist
Have these ready when we arrive:
- Your V5C logbook, or proof of ID if you don't have it.
- Your bank details for payment.
- The keys, if you have them.
- Any personal belongings removed, including from the boot and glovebox.
If the V5C is still registered to your old address after a move, let us know when you call. Our guide on how to scrap a car covers the whole process.
