Car transport in Stanion: moving vehicles without driving them

Living in a village like Stanion often means a car is the only realistic way to get around. So when a second car needs to go somewhere, or you buy one a long way from home, getting it moved can be a headache. Our car transport service collects the vehicle and delivers it, so nobody has to arrange lifts or train tickets.

We use open beavertail tilt-and-slide transporters and spec lift trucks, and we cover the whole of the UK. We do not offer enclosed transport, but open transport is right for the vast majority of cars, vans, 4x4s, classics and prestige models.

When Stanion drivers use our car transporter

Buying privately or online. Found the right car hundreds of miles away? We collect it from the seller and bring it back to Stanion.

Auction purchases. We collect from auction sites and deliver to your home or your garage.

Garage and MOT runs. If your car has no MOT, or you do not want to lose half a day, we take it to the garage and bring it back.

Selling a car. We can deliver a car to its new owner or to a dealer on your behalf.

Classic and project cars. Older and non-running cars are winched carefully onto the bed. Low cars are loaded with extra care.

Moving home. Moving to or from Stanion with more vehicles than drivers? We move the extra car or van.

For garages, dealers and fleets

We work for garages, car dealers and fleet operators as well as private customers. That includes dealer deliveries, collections from customers' homes and garage-to-garage moves. Some of our trucks can carry one car and tow a second on a dolly, which can reduce cost when two vehicles are going the same way. Business invoicing is available by arrangement.

Step by step

  1. Call or WhatsApp 07598 314366 with the pick-up and drop-off locations.
  2. Describe the car. Make, model, whether it runs, and anything unusual such as lowered suspension.
  3. Get your fixed price. You know the full cost before you commit.
  4. Pick a time. We arrange collection around you and the other party.
  5. We deliver. The car is strapped down, transported and handed over.

How much does car transport cost from Stanion?

Car transport is priced per job with a fixed price agreed before booking. The cost mainly depends on:

  • The distance between collection and delivery.
  • Whether the car runs or needs winching.
  • The size and weight of the vehicle.
  • Access at either end and any waiting time.

A local garage run costs far less than a long-distance collection. Payment is by card, bank transfer or cash. More detail is in our car transport cost guide.

Careful handling, properly insured

We are careful with every vehicle. Each one is loaded slowly, strapped through the wheels and checked before we leave. We hold goods in transit, public liability and road risks insurance and work to PAS 43 and ISO 9001 standards. If a car needs holding before delivery, it can stay in our secure storage yard.

Getting the car ready

  • Make sure keys, spare keys and the locking wheel nut key go with the car.
  • Take out valuables and anything loose.
  • Let us know about any damage, flat tyres or warning lights in advance.
  • If someone else is handing the car over, make sure they know our arrival time.

If the car you are moving will not start, our car won't start guide may help you work out why.

Taking the A6116 out of the way

For many longer moves from Stanion we head out along the A6116 towards Thrapston and the A14, or back through Corby, depending on where the car is going. We plan the route around the vehicle and the delivery time, so you get a realistic delivery estimate when you book.

Collections from Stanion homes

Drop-offs and pick-ups in the village are simple to arrange. Tell us whether the car is on a driveway, in a garage or parked on the street, and if there is anything that might make loading awkward, such as a steep drive, overhanging trees or cars parked close by. We plan the right truck around it so the collection goes smoothly.

For a car that has broken down rather than one that just needs moving, see breakdown recovery in Stanion. If it is not worth keeping, try scrap car collection in Stanion. We also provide car transport in Brigstock and car transport in Weldon.
