Sell my scrap car in Great Easton
If you want to sell your scrap car in Great Easton, Rapid Recovery Corby will make you an offer, collect it free of charge and pay you by bank transfer. We buy cars, vans and motorbikes, whether they run or not. Every vehicle we collect goes to a licensed Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), so it is dealt with properly and the DVLA is told.

- cars with no MOT or no tax
- accident damaged vehicles
- cars damaged by flood water
- old vans and motorbikes
- vehicles without a V5C logbook, as long as you can show proof of ID
When flood water finishes a car off
Cars that have been driven into deep water on the low roads near the village, or caught out after heavy rain, sometimes aren't worth repairing. Water can damage the engine, the electrics and the interior. If you or your insurer decide the car is finished, we can collect it from your home, a garage or our secure storage yard and take it for scrapping.
What is my scrap car worth?
There is no single price, because every car is different. These are the things that set the figure:
| What we look at | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Weight | Most of the value is in the metal |
| Scrap metal prices | They go up and down with the market |
| Make and model | Some cars have more useful parts |
| Completeness | Missing parts lower the value |
| Condition | Damage and corrosion reduce the price |
Send us the registration, make and model by phone or WhatsApp and we will give you a figure. Collection is free. The scrap car cost guide explains pricing in more detail.
Why we pay by bank transfer
The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 makes it illegal for scrap metal dealers and collectors to pay cash for scrap, including scrap cars. So we always pay by bank transfer. It also leaves you with a clear record of who took the car and when.
Our licences and the paperwork
We hold a waste carrier licence and a scrap metal collector's licence. The ATF we use issues a Certificate of Destruction and notifies the DVLA that the vehicle has been scrapped. Once the DVLA knows, any full months of road tax left are refunded to you automatically. For a full walk-through, read our guide on how to scrap a car.
Getting the truck to your car
Great Easton's narrow lanes mean we like to know about access before we set off. Is the car on a drive, in a garage, behind a gate or at the edge of a lane? Does it roll, or are the brakes or wheels seized? With a winch, dollies and skates we can move most cars that have been stuck in one place for a long time, but planning ahead keeps the collection quick and tidy.
Collection day, step by step
- We arrive at the time agreed.
- We check your proof of ID and the V5C if you have it.
- We load the vehicle.
- You receive payment by bank transfer.
- The vehicle goes to the ATF for dismantling and recycling.
Before we collect
Go through the glovebox, door pockets, boot and under the seats. Take out anything that belongs to you, along with any parking permits or dash cams. If you have a private plate you want to keep, transfer it off before collection day. Once the car has gone, cancel the insurance and any payments linked to it.
Sorting out a relative's car
We are often asked to collect a car that belonged to a parent or relative who has stopped driving or passed away. Tell us the situation and we will explain what ID and paperwork helps, and we can work around a time that suits the family.
For garages and businesses
Garages, dealers and companies with end-of-life vehicles can book collections with us too. Some of our trucks carry one vehicle and tow another, which helps when there is more than one to clear.
Why use a licensed local collector?
An unlicensed buyer might offer cash and drive off with your car, but you are left with no proof it was ever scrapped. With us, the vehicle goes to a licensed ATF, the DVLA is notified and you have a bank transfer on record. We are a local team, insured for goods in transit, public liability and road risks, and we answer the phone when you ring.
Worth a second look?
Not every old car is scrap. If you think it might be worth repairing, we can take it to a garage with car transport from Great Easton. If it has simply broken down, see breakdown recovery in Great Easton. We also collect scrap cars from Rockingham and Cottingham.
