We always pay by bank transfer. Under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, it is illegal for scrap metal dealers and collectors to pay cash for scrap metal, and that includes scrap cars. Anyone offering cash for your scrap car is breaking the law. A bank transfer also gives you a clear record of the sale.
Licensed and properly recorded
We hold a waste carrier licence and a scrap metal collector's licence. When your vehicle reaches the ATF:
- The ATF issues a Certificate of Destruction.
- The ATF notifies the DVLA that the vehicle has been scrapped.
- The DVLA refunds any full months of vehicle tax to you automatically.

Collecting from yards, barns and drives
Cars that have been left for a long time are often awkward to move. Tyres go flat, brakes seize and keys get lost. We bring a winch, dollies and skates so we can move cars that won't roll. If the vehicle is in a muddy yard or behind a narrow gateway, tell us when you call so we can plan the collection.

On the day
